I had a craving for cookies and I wanted to try out my recipe and see if it turns out well as I needed to test the recipes before I make it for a special person. I had a sense of nostalgia as I dunked my cookies in my glass of milk before I put it in my mouth. ( I never eat cookies without milk)
My mum used to bake really yummy cookies during the festive period back when I was younger. Nobody’s cookies ever tasted as good as the ones she used to bake and I am not even being biased. 🙂
This is not my mum’s recipe though, hers is much more chocolatey and it is a little more on the crunchy side. I like my cookies a little chewy. One of my friends said it tasted like the cookies sold in Subway so try it and find out!
Things you need:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla essence
3 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp hot water
1 tsp coffee granules
1/2 tsp salt
2 cup dark chocolate chips/ semi-sweet
1 cup chopped almonds/walnuts/hazelnut
Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius
Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned. And you’re done! 😀
They’re chocolatey chewy, you could keep them for a week or so in an airtight container and they’ll still be yum! Enjoy!
